Principal's Report
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the generous contribution of volunteers to our school. Volunteers provide invaluable support for all our Camp Hill students across such a diverse range of programs – from Swimming spotters; Reading Buddies; Tuckshop helpers; support for extracurricular programs (often on the weekends and after school hours) as well as our wonderful Camp Hill P&C. Our volunteers give generously of their time and do so with commitment and passion for excellence in education. They improve the learning journey (curricular and extracurricular) for every Camp Hill student (and their family).
I would like to particularly like to acknowledge the Camp Hill P&C who play a very significant role in building our collective culture school culture. This relationship starts from when our families have their first contact with the school (Uniform Shop); the annual Prep Welcome BBQ; the annual School Calendar; through the services of OSHC throughout the year (Before and After School and Vacation Care); healthy meals and treats from our fabulous tuckshop; the Crocs Swim program (enabling our swimmers the opportunity to participate in squad and competitions); and of course the major celebrations such as the biannual Fair, Bush Dance, Movie Nights to name just a few of the very diverse range of highlights each year. The fundraising that the P&C undertakes provides significant funding for a range of school programs and resources for all year levels. The members of the P&C are volunteers who truly do make a difference to every Camp Hill student. Thank you.
The school will celebrate our Volunteers in Term 3 – watch out for information from the school.
In the later part of Term 2 many our students will be participating in a range of extracurricular activities including: sporting competitions (School and District); Beginner Band and Strings programs; Aerobic and Dance programs and Readers Cup. Thank you to everyone involved in organising these programs for our students.
Report cards will be sent home on Friday 27 June (the last term of Term 2) via email, and Parent-Teacher conferences will be hold on Tuesday 22 July. Parents are encouraged to attend their child’s Parent-Teacher conference evening to support strong positive home-school partnerships and to ensure a shared understanding of their child’s learning journey.
A reminder for families to ensure that your contact details are current on the school database – if you have moved since enrolment or changed any contact details – as we need to ensure that the most current information is available if required and certainly for report cards.
Take care
Deborah Driver

Curriculum
Academic Reports - Version 9 and Changes to Reporting
All Queensland state schools, including ours, are implementing Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum. This curriculum update, effective from 2025, introduces enhancements to teaching and learning, assessment, and reporting practices.
What Does This Mean for Your Child’s Report Card?
Under the P–12 Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Framework (Version 9), report cards continue to serve as a vital communication tool between the school and families. They provide insights into your child’s academic progress, achievements, and areas for improvement. There will be some changes to your child’s report card moving forward as the focus of Version 9 at Camp Hill is to reduce the cognitive load of assessment and focus on providing engaging learning opportunities that immerse learners in rich content that provokes thoughts and discussion. For Prep students, teachers will report academic achievement for English, Mathematics, and Health and Physical Education (HPE) only. There will be an effort mark for other Learning Areas in Prep.
Reporting of HPE in 2025:
In the past, at Camp Hill, each strand (Health and Physical Education) has been reported on separately and an academic achievement (grading) for each strand, would have been seen on Academic Report Cards. From 2025, HPE will be reported as one learning area in all year levels in both semesters. Families will see just one grade and an effort mark for the HPE Learning Area. Depending on the assessment focus, at times, this grading may be more reflective of either the Health strand or the Movement and Physical Education stand across the semester.
What will you see on your child’s report card this semester?
Following consultation with staff and community it has been decided that no comments will be included on the report cards. However, teachers will still give an achievement mark and effort mark for each learning area provided (ie: taught and assessed) as well as a mark for behaviour. There will then be an opportunity at parent teacher meetings early in Term 3 (22 July) to discuss your child’s learning in more detail, as well as celebrations and next steps for your child.

Respectful Relationships Education RRE at Camp Hill
As part of a Queensland Education’s initiative and an ongoing commitment to student wellbeing and safety, schools are required to teach Respectful Relationships Education (RRE). At Camp Hill we are integrating the Respect Program (developed by Education Queensland) within the Australian Curriculum V9 Health Curriculum.
The Respectful Relationships Education initiative is a key part of promoting positive, safe, and inclusive school environments. It supports students in developing social and emotional skills, building healthy relationships, and understanding their rights and responsibilities.
RRE has been taught in Prep this year and will be implemented in all other year levels in 2026. As part of this curriculum, in Semester 2, the Prep students will be engaging with Topic 3: Protective Behaviours. This important topic helps our youngest learners understand personal safety in an age-appropriate and respectful way. As part of this topic, students will learn the anatomical names for body parts. Using correct terminology helps children develop a healthy and accurate understanding of their bodies, supports respectful communication, and is a vital part of personal safety education. One of the picture books that the teachers will read with the students is “Everyone’s Got a Bottom”, by Tess Rowley. This gentle, age-appropriate picture book is designed to introduce young children (ages 3–8) to concepts of body safety and personal boundaries. Through the experiences of siblings Ben, his brother, and his sister, the story encourages open conversations about body autonomy, consent, and self-protection in a fun, positive, and informative way.
We understand that parents and carers are important partners in this learning. Throughout the year we will continue to share information about this program with parents. If you have any questions about the Respect Program or would like further information about what is being taught in the classroom, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher.
Together, we can help our students build respectful relationships and develop lifelong skills for their wellbeing and safety.
Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability

The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data – Students with Disabilities annual data capture occurs in all schools. The aim of the capture is to collect information regarding the number of students who have a disability and the type of support they require to access the curriculum on the same basis as their peers. The NCCD helps inform schools, education authorities and the government regarding the support that is required by students.
All information that is collected is kept confidential and students’ personal details are not disclosed.
The information that is captured includes the type of disability category and the level of support that the student requires in the educational setting.
Please click on the link below for further information about the NCCD process. Information is also available in a number of different languages.
If you have any questions, please contact Fiona Lloyd – Deputy Principal Inclusion on flloy1@eq.edu.au or via the school phone number 3900 9444.

GETTING ALONG
WE TRY OUR BEST TO GET ALONG WITH OTHERS.
Getting along with others is the focus for the students in Prep as they engage with ‘Gabby Get Along’ and ‘Gary Get Along’.

Using kind words, sharing, taking turns, including others and playing by the rules.

Semester 1 Lytton District Sport Trials
Term 2
Our school is one of many in the Lytton District school sport cluster. Students turning 10-12 years old in 2025 (Born 2013, 2014 and 2015) have the opportunity to nominate in Lytton District sport trials, which is the first stage of representative school sport. If successful, students then compete in the Met East regional trial. If students are selected in a Met East team, they play in the QLD state carnival.
Trials can be during or after school hours. Please note that these are not participation-based opportunities and students at these trials would need to have a high level of ability and/or experience to be involved. Schools are usually limited to four nominations for each district sport trial. Transport to and from these trials is the responsibility of the parents/carers.
Below are the considerations when nominating:
- Is the correct age to trial (Born 2013, 2014 or 2015) - students turning 12 would usually get priority over students who are younger
- Has prior playing experience and skills in the interested sport
- Has the physical skill level and ability to trial in a representative opportunity
- Meets safety suitability - some students turning 12yrs old have developed physical size. Students under 12yrs old (born 2014 and 2015) would need to demonstrate the ability to compete with older students at a representative trial.
Term 2 Sport Trials:

Strings and Band
Important reminder: Instrument Care and Labelling
Please have a conversation with your child about the best places to store their instrument while at school.
Even during winter, direct sunlight on a black instrument case can cause it to become uncomfortably hot—and in summer, it can get seriously damaged by the heat.
Additionally, we’ve noticed many instrument cases are still missing labels. To avoid mix-ups, each case should be clearly marked, much like luggage at an airport, so it’s easy to identify and pick up the right instrument every time.
Spare luggage-style tags are available in the Senior Campus Music Room. Please encourage your child to collect one if they need it.
Thank you for helping us keep instruments safe and easily identifiable!
